I live in a town where the sea is visible.

Along the way, I have wandered, paused, and stood still many times,
taking countless \u201cdetours\u201d through life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, I find myself in the middle of a journey \u2014
learning to listen carefully to my own inner voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, I sense what others are feeling
even before any words are spoken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think that may simply be the way I relate to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this blog, I write about the days I spent walking alongside my son
during his years of withdrawal,
and about the slow process of my heart coming undone \u2014
and gradually finding its way again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name \u201cAmelie\u201d comes from a film I love,
Am\u00e9lie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I see a part of myself in her \u2014
a little shy, yet still trying, somehow,
to reach out and connect with the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If these words can quietly find their way
to someone who may be struggling right now,
that would mean more to me than anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
