It had been a while since we’d been in touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There was something slightly off about the exchange \u2014 a small, hard-to-name discomfort in the messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And from that tiny thing,<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Do they dislike me now?”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Even now, I still find myself slipping into that kind of anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But lately, I’ve come to understand something \u2014 just a little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In those moments, I am off-center. My axis has shifted. And I am no longer sitting in the pilot’s seat of my own life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So when I feel that murky unease, I start by writing my feelings down \u2014 exactly as they are. Without trying to make them neat or presentable. Just getting everything out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then I take a moment to receive those feelings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “So that’s what you’re feeling,”<\/em> I say to myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After that, I decide: do I let it be, or do I act?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I don’t have to find the answer right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But the one thing I won’t stop doing is staying honest with myself.
