Children\u2019s Behavior Is a Sign<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a time when I didn\u2019t know what to do \u2014
not with my son, and not with the children in my classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back then, my class somehow felt unsettled,
and small troubles seemed to arise almost every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arguments between children.
Little lies that slipped out.
Some days, the air in the classroom felt restless and tense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I returned home, my son also seemed to be struggling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At school and at home,
I was simply doing everything I could to respond to what was happening in front of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was desperately searching for an answer \u2014
some way to make things work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around that time, I came across the books of the psychologist Hayao Kawai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of them was called The Universe of Children<\/em> \u2014
a book that explores the vast and deep world of children
through many perspectives:
children and family, children and secrets, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I read it with complete absorption,
driven by one wish:
to understand the hearts of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From that book, I received a message that stayed with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind behavior that appears to be a problem,
there may be a message from the child\u2019s own heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, that way of seeing things felt completely new to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, reading the book did not change everything overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I still spent my days wandering and rushing, just as before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now, looking back, I sometimes find myself thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps my son\u2019s struggles during those years,
and the restlessness of the children in my classroom \u2014
all of it was a kind of sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, I have found myself returning to that book
and reading it again after all these years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a feeling that now,
with the time that has passed,
I may see something different in its pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps the words we encounter along the detours of life
reveal their meaning only after time has passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
